Adam Ekberg photographs events that he makes happen in the world.
Solo-exhibitions include: George Eastman Museum, Rochester; CLAMP, New York; DeSoto Gallery, Los Angeles; and Fotografiska, Stockholm, Sweden.
Group exhibitions include: Aperture, New York; Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockland; The Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; Aran Cravey Gallery, Los Angeles; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; and Crawford Art Gallery, Cork, Ireland.
Ekberg has been awarded residencies at Yaddo, Monson Arts, Monhegan Artists' Residency and Playa. He is the recipient of both the Society for Photographic Education’s Imagemaker Award and the Tanne Foundation Award.
His photographs are the collections of the George Eastman Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and Museum of Contemporary Photography, among others.
When not making art he can be found on long distance solo bicycle trips, swimming in any body of water that will have him, teaching photography, and playing Go.
