Adam Ekberg photographs events that he makes happen in the world.

Solo-exhibitions include: George Eastman Museum, Rochester; CLAMP, New York; DeSoto Gallery, Los Angeles; and Fotografiska, Stockholm, Sweden.

Group exhibitions include: Aperture, New York; Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockland ME; The Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago IL; Aran Cravey Gallery, Los Angeles CA; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago IL; Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, MA and Crawford Art Gallery, Cork, Ireland.

Ekberg has been awarded residencies at Yaddo, Monson Arts, Monhegan Artists' Residency and Playa. He is the recipient of both the Society for Photographic Education’s Imagemaker Award and the Tanne Foundation Award.

His work has been reviewed and featured in the Chicago Tribune, Dream Magazine (Spain), The Village Voice, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Harpers, Harvard Business Review, N+1, Virginia Quarterly Review, Chicago Sun Times, Oxford American Magazine, The Boston Globe, Conveyor Magazine, Photograph Magazine, Le monde diplomatique (German Edition), and Art In Culture (South Korea).

His work is in the collections of the George Eastman Museum, Rochester NY, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago IL, Worcester Art Museum, Worcester MA, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago IL and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston among others.

When not making art he can be found on long distance solo bicycle trips, swimming in any body of water that will have him, teaching photography, and playing Go.
